Recommendation Letter

Dear Sir or Madam:

The Law School of Wuhan University (in Hubei Province) is one of the most prestigious law school in China. As Dean and a professor of the School, I sincerely recommend Mr. Adela Shen, my student, for J.D. Program in your distinguished Law School.

Mr. Shen is a roll model for his classmates in the study of jurisprudence, in which he demonstrates excellent initiative and wonderful originality. He devotes most of his time to the theories of Constitution, and the legal protection of the rights of the weak in particular. His article on the Lanzhou Journal, despite some insufficiencies, is innovative in terms of its argumentation on the relationship between juvenile moral education and legal protection. What impresses me most is his graduation thesis entitled "A Study on Organizational Crimes", in which he analyzes in depth the roles played by criminal syndicates within and without mainland China in human smuggling and the countermeasure research by the jurisprudential circle. I find his analysis immediately significant.

Wuhan University is extremely rigid in implementing examination discipline, and Mr. Shen‘s average score of 85 (out of the total of 100 points) is really outstanding. A top student in his class, he displays great leadership in social activities. When still a freshman, he led the volleyball team of our School out of the valley of fiasco three years on end. As monitor and as vice chairman of the students‘ union, he works very hard, revealing great sense of work ethics.

His English proficiency is particularly satisfying. He was exempt from freshmen‘s English courses, and was able to pass the national College English Tests (Band Four and Band Six) ahead of his fellow students. And this, in my opinion, indicates that his has the language competency needed for the life and study abroad. His great interest in jurisprudence and devotion to theoretical research are also essential to smooth completion of his studies in your School.

Shen is one of the few students who are worthy of my recommendation. I know that he is a boy of great expectations, and I trust that given the chance of studying at you School, he is sure to give full play to his potentials, and bring about a perfect integration of Oriental charismatic and Occidental culture.
